Hi, I'm doing Piano Grade 6 and I am having a some problems with the Aural part. For 6A, to sing the upper part , I find it difficult to distinguish the upper part and also to memorize the phrase. What advice would you give me to be able to memorize the phrase easier(during the exams, stressed)? For 6C, to identify the cadence and state if it's minor or major key. How can I identify if it's a minor or major key? Is it by hearing the key chord and see if the first note is the same. If it is the same, is it a major key ? or if not a minor? The part 6D , answer questions on the features of the piece...It says "the general perception , texture, form, style and period." The texture is about the dynamics etc..? Maybe an example of each required part of 6D may be helpful.
Thanks - Waiting for your answers & advices impatiently.

Get yourself a teacher who has experience coaching students to pass their ABRSM exams. Just because you have a good piano teacher doesn't mean you have a good coach for the aural exams. For the singing back: Practice, practice, practice. Start with shorter ones, have your teacher emphasize the soprano voice so you can hear it better in the beginning. Do mock exams later to test yourself under stress. For the cadences and major/minor: two or three lessons with a teacher and you will have this down. It is really easy once you know what to listen for. For 6D, the important thing is to TALK and mention everything you can. And: Practice, practice, practice while also listening to a wide variety of music critically (= knowing what your are listening to). There are shortcuts for this one, but the best thing would be to take private tuition of a Survey of Western Music course to get something out of it as well.
